I’ve made it through two months blogging, but honestly November is an example of how I don’t want to run this blog. My posts were scattered and inconsistent, and did not follow along with my established content calendar. Moving forward I hope to be more predictable and consistent.
At the risk of making excuses, personally the month kinda just got away from me. I was off to a good start at the beginning of the month with several new posts. Then I got a text from one of Annie’s daycares letting us know that one of the other kids tested positive for COVID, then the director tested positive and another mom tested positive. So we pulled Annie from daycare first for quarantine and is still out due to extra caution since it’s still somewhat present in the center. Thankfully we have all managed to stay healthy. Throw in Thanksgiving and having company over and I lost my groove.
Making Money
I’m still working to learn some strategies for earning affiliate income. But no bites so far.
Also, I still need to look into Google Ads again. I should have a little more dedicated time in December, so I’m looking forward to answering a few of my own questions and really propel forward.

Social Media
I did have a big win, which I am excited about. I got my first outbound click from Pinterest. Actually I got four. I’m up 520% on impressions and my audience is up 1440% through Pinterest since last month. My numbers are still very small, but the growth percentages from Pinterest are reassuring. Especially since it’s all organic, no paid promotions yet.
Site Traffic
I got 18 views in November, which is down from 33 in October. That’s a wake up call since the numbers are already super low, to be losing traffic is not good. After two months blogging, I was hoping my traffic would have been a little higher, but there’s room for improvement. That being said, some of that November traffic was directly from posts on Pinterest, which is an improvement from October. So hopefully I can rebuild some momentum in December.

Coming Up
I have a lot of work to do to really get the blog off the ground. I’m coming up on a major event for my full time job, so I will be busy, but I’m really going to put in some effort to share some fun information. My most popular post so far is the family friendly mocktail post from October, so I’ll be working on a family friendly mocktail for the Christmas season too. Keep an eye out for that.
I’m also going to share the sensory bin I put together for Thanksgiving, as well as a version I’m putting together that is more of a winter theme. I’ll have some other fun posts too so stay tuned.
Cheers!
